Iceland is not all about the nature though. Icelandic people are warm, friendly and outgoing. Most of the population lives in or around the city of Reykjavik, which is bursting with culture, great food and creative architecture. You will find plenty to do here, and this modern city should definitely be on your itinerary. Icelandic cuisine is based on ‘local’ and ‘slow’, and has something for everyone. Local swimming pools are a great way to meet the locals (and enjoy some relaxing family time!). You will also want to visit the “Blue Lagoon” for at least a half day of relaxation amidst a very unique natural setting (you will feel you have landed on the moon!). Kids will love hearing the the stories and legends of Trolls and Elves, which many icelanders still believe in!
