Created by electrically charged particles, this phenomena makes the thin air shine like a fluorescent light. Iceland is considered one of the best places in the world for viewing this spectacular event. You will have a definite “bucket list” check off your list!

Nature lovers will be very happy in Iceland. From it’s spectacular waterfalls, picturesque Fjords, magnificent glaciers, and unique lava fields, Iceland does not disappoint. And you will have no shortage of really fantastic vacation photos to take home! Iceland is also one of the most eco-friendly nations in the world, with over 80% of the country powered naturally from hydro and geothermal energy. Iceland is not all about the nature though. Icelandic people are warm, friendly and outgoing. Most of the population lives in or around the city of Reykjavik, which is bursting with culture, great food and creative architecture. You will find plenty to do here, and this modern city should definitely be on your itinerary. Icelandic cuisine is based on ‘local’ and ‘slow’, and has something for everyone. Local swimming pools are a great way to meet the locals (and enjoy some relaxing family time!). You will also want to visit the “Blue Lagoon” for at least a half day of relaxation amidst a very unique natural setting (you will feel you have landed on the moon!). Kids will love hearing the the stories and legends of Trolls and Elves, which many icelanders still believe in!
